Mysuru-Kushalnagar NH-275 Four-Lane Highway Project Nears Land Acquisition Completion, May Finish Ahead of 2027 Deadline
The Mysuru-Kushalnagar NH-275 four-lane greenfield highway project is nearing a major milestone as land acquisition reaches completion. With 18.3% construction progress achieved, the Rs 2,502 crore project may finish before its December 2027 deadline, improving connectivity between Bengaluru, Mysuru and Kodagu.
The 92.3-kilometre access-controlled highway, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2,502 crore, will connect Kushalnagar in Kodagu district with the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway near Paschima Vahini in Srirangapatna, Mandya district. Once operational, the highway is expected to reduce the travel time between Mysuru and Kushalnagar to less than one hour.
The project is also expected to significantly improve connectivity between Bengaluru and Kodagu, potentially reducing the travel duration between the two destinations to under three hours after the highway becomes operational.
According to official data, around 18.3% of the overall construction work has been completed so far, while land acquisition has reached the final phase across all four construction packages. Of the nearly 560.4 acres required for the project, 98% of the land has been made available for packages 2 and 3, 97% for package 4 and 96% for package 5.
The construction progress across different sections of the highway includes 13.6% completion in package 2, covering 22.7 kilometres, 24.5% in package 3, covering 24.1 kilometres, 18.4% in package 4, covering 26.5 kilometres, and 16.6% in package 5, covering 18.9 kilometres.
Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar said the remaining land acquisition process would be completed shortly. He stated that the construction work was progressing as scheduled and expressed the possibility that the project could be completed before the December 2027 deadline.
Sources said that, except for an 8.5-kilometre stretch in Periyapatna, the entire corridor is being developed as a greenfield highway. The project is expected to provide faster, safer and more efficient connectivity between Bengaluru, Mysuru and Kodagu, transforming travel along the important regional route.
The completion of the NH-275 corridor will mark a major milestone in strengthening road infrastructure in Karnataka, creating a modern access-controlled route that could improve transportation efficiency and regional connectivity
